Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My dual language Spanish class is made up of 13 low-income students, 6 girls and 7 boys. I have 13 English language learners who need total physical response and other visual, and or auditory scaffolds to increase their English language development. The rest of my students are reclassified English learners. As a 1 to 1 iPad school, the students have become literate in utilizing multiple applications like iMovie, and Keynote. They are enthusiastic and highly motivated by technology, which is enhancing their learning tremendously.

My Project

In order to enhance my dual language instruction I have to provide integrated and engaging lessons. I am integrating Social Studies, Math, Science and Art by providing cultural relevant lessons.

However, students do not have access to essential classroom supplies to engage in integrated Steam lessons like magnifying glasses, fabric paint, acrylic paint, cardstock paper, oil pastels, boxes to keep math and science materials.

Please help my students receive their own materials, since I am hesitant to have them share materials because of COVID. The students would be able to complete standards based, engaging projects with enthusiasm using their own supplies.
