Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
I work with a group of dedicated, hard-working, eager-to-learn sixth-graders from low-income backgrounds; many of whom come from single-parent homes, while some live with grandparents and/or relatives. Much of my student population come with IEPs which require individualized interventions to help all students succeed. This comes with varying levels of learning challenges and more effort on my part to keep them engaged as often as possible.
I have many Special Education students in my homeroom class in the morning and they sometimes come in hungry and could really use a pick-me-up.
I am trying to promote exercise and STAYING ACTIVE as well as improving attendance records with some students already having 20 absences or more.
I believe students who stay active and attend school on a regular basis will really be happy when they reach their goal, pass the class, and earn this gift card along with accolades from their classmates for doing so. They can get a breakfast sandwich, drink, doughnut, etc. from Dunkin' to celebrate their success.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
