Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

You matter at Mater is what we tell our students! My students come from many different backgrounds and circumstances, many of which are not ideal. Yet, despite the many personal challenges they experience on a daily basis, my students show up to school ready for the day! Their attitude and enthusiasm for learning inspires me to be a great teacher.

My school is a Title I school in Nevada in which many of my students live below the poverty line and face difficult personal challenges every day.

That doesn't stop them from doing amazing things! My students do endure tough obstacles every day, but they arrive to school smiling and ready to learn. We take care of one another at my school and I am ecstatic to be teaching a new class to students who have never experienced it before.

My Project

Help me motivate my students! We are excited to finally have the opportunity to attend school in person this year! However, some of the behavior issues we have experienced this year have pushed us to seek ways to promote a schoolwide positive reinforcement system.

My elementary school students need items that they are excited to earn each week.

Therefore, I am also requesting various items that include bracelets, fidget toys, art supplies, and a Cricut. The Cricut will be used in our CTE class to personalize the water bottles and the tote bags. We are changing the lives of young adults one day at a time with a positive approach.
