This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a 2nd-grade teacher in a high needs, low income, Title I school. Our students are primarily English Language Learners. Our school is made up of 70% ELL and 100% of them receive a free lunch and breakfast.
I have an incredible group of 26 students this school year.
We are currently teaching virtually and soon we will be going hybrid. Every day these students will walk into the classroom eager to learn and ready to face any challenge that's put in front of them. Students spend long hours at school every day and, yet, every single day they're excited to be here and ready to take on whatever is put in front of them. It truly amazes me how determined and dedicated these young minds of theirs are.
My Project
I am asking for fun fidget toys, slime, and many other little fun incentives to provide for my students. We are currently learning virtually and as many of us know it can be very difficult to keep little ones sitting for so long. I have been giving small points that have been keeping the students motivated. I have a plan, if they earn 50 points, then I will deliver their prizes to them.
It would such amazing support to be able to provide these amazing supplies for my class.
There really is no better feeling from a student and a teacher than when you're able to receive fun little incentives for a job well done.
