My Project

Sometimes our scholars need some extra encouragement and incentive to come to school, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic has had lasting impacts on student achievement and attendance. For the 2023-2024 school year, our school would like to start strong with incentivizing our scholars to regularly come to school from the very first day. Once they are here, we know they will be excited to continue coming to school daily. It is difficult to change a habit once it is already formed and attendance is no different.

Our scholars are excited to receive any sort of reward to recognize them for their various growth and good habits.

We want to continue their excitement for incentives and promote positive school attendance habits from day 1 of the upcoming school year by offering incentives like stickers, pencils, bracelets, toys, and parties (glow parties and bubble parties to be specific) to our students for their positive attendance as well as improving their attendance.

With this incentive program, our scholars not only benefit from getting rewarded for their attendance but they also benefit from receiving the academic instruction and social-emotional skills practice they would have otherwise missed if they were not in school. Increased attendance generally means increased academic achievement. Our hope with this project/program is to build positive attendance habits at the start of the year that will last all year long and, consequently, help our students achieve greater academic performance.
