My Students

Imagine moving every four years of your life. Will the school I'm going to have similar things as my current school? Is often a question I hear from students. I work in one of the largest elementary schools in the county comprised of over 600 students.

Most of the families are military families.

Therefore, we have a 40% mobility rate. Specials classes, like Music, are the glue that keeps our students motivated to learn. Our students are bright, imaginative, and ready to learn.

My Project

Students need an opportunity to create music on quality instruments. Everyone loves playing on instruments. But, when there aren't enough it can make for some very sad faces.

The addition of an Alto Xylophone will allow students to create wonderful music, accompany what we are learning, and play delightful music.

The Music room currently has a few Orff instruments and I have seen how playing the Xylophones help to improve students hand and eye coordination, reading skills, and musicianship.

Students will work on teamwork as we study skills and play them on the Xylophone. Then adding other instruments and voices to create a new wonderful piece.

There are several students in the school classified as special needs the stand will allow them to have equal access to the xylophones.
