My Project

My classroom is full of enthusiastic Second grade students. They come in each day eager to learn, with a variety of life experiences and background knowledge.

A subscription to Scholastic Magazines News and Science Spins would be a great way to expose them to a variety of Science and Social Studies concepts.

We would be able to use these nonfiction magazines whole group. The student's will have access digitally and would also be able to have a print copy to take home to share with their families. The digital issue helps to engage the students by using videos and fact checking games. It also allows me to let them explore the issues more on their own after we have finished it in class. The print copies are great because students can find different text features such as titles, headings, bold words, etc. They enjoy sharing these with their families!
