My Project

This project is built around my desire to maintain a classroom that is robust in academia, as well as a respite for creativity and nourishment through the act and art of reading.

As teen lives becomes busier, I want my class to be a place where students are not only challenged, but find a moment's peace in reading something of enjoyment.

Refreshing classroom books, especially at different levels, ensures all my students can choose a book at their independent level. This autonomy is crucial to engagement in reading. This project also is infused with materials for students to add artwork and color to their journals. There are also some puzzles for the spots in class when students are finished early and need a reading break; the kinesthetic learning and collaboration are skills that support our speaking and listening goals.
