Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Most educators feel their classroom of students are the best and greatest. Although I can't argue with their opinions, I happen to think that I have the best and greatest students on this planet. There isn't a day that I don't look forward to seeing their faces and seeing them develop in knowledge and wisdom before my eyes. I may be their teacher, but they teach me so many lessons each day as well. Currently, I am educating a set of curious, friendly, and resilient fourth grade students that are constantly excited about learning.

My students attend a Title I school in which 30% live in shelters.

Despite the obstacles they face on a daily basis, they are always eager to learn and never give up hope. As their teacher, I buy the majority of the materials they need to help them achieve their academic goals out of my own pocket because I want to provide them with the opportunities to learn and experience things they never imagined. I want to instill the joy that learning can bring regardless of the challenges within their own lives.

My Project

Recently, the visual representation of the classroom has changed. Majority of students in the United States are learning differently at their schools. This is due to technology. A long time ago items, such as iPads, desktops, laptops and computers were not even thought of to be in the classroom nor did they exist within our students' homes. However, when walking into today’s 21st century classroom one will surely observe that not only are there computers and tablets being placed each room but they will also observe that with the creation of these items has completely changed literacy as we used to know it. As educator of wonderful and intelligent individuals I believe it important that I embrace the incorporation of technology in my lessons in order to fully engage my students, especially since it is the expectation and the norm of my students. However, to fully embrace this fantastic new way of learning and teaching my classroom needs technology. To help build the usage of technology in my classroom I believe Chromebooks is the best route to go. Chromebooks will allow my students to type and print their beautiful writing pieces, research projects, engage in center tasks, and be able to read engaging books online.

Technology is such an essential part of our world, having Chromebooks in the classroom will help my students learn the much needed 21st century skills.

My students will be able to receive personalized learning through the usage of the Chromebooks. The Chromebooks will aide in their learning and further prepare them for their future. Every amount counts, please help us in our search of Chromebooks in our classroom!
