I am a fourth grade teacher working in a small town in with a great groups of kids which includes ASD students mainstreamed into our classroom.

We have decided to set up our own little town. We hold jobs, and have responsibilities by which we can earn an income. On payday we can buy items that we use in our classroom, or we can save our money to earn interest to buy larger items. We desire some funding to support our budding economy.

Our stores will be stocked with the needs of our "residents". These include pencils, pens, folders, games that we have learned in our class, folders and more! We also need additional coin stamps that serve as our "paychecks".

"In Our Little Town" the kids get to cross curricular areas. We have studied communities and economy in social studies. We are fine tuning our math skills of adding, subtracting, figuring percentages, and understanding interest. Finally, we must articulate in written and spoken form our needs and desires.
