My Students

In order to add a little more physical activity to our days of excessive reading, writing and math I am asking for Yoga Mats so we can stretch our bodies and activate our minds during weekly club sessions. This will be a fun and total physical encounter for my third graders.

My students are mostly second language learners who were either once limited English students or who are currently struggling with the language.

My classroom as well as my grade and school also services students with special needs who can be expressive in many art forms. In order to promote unity, our school is partaking in regular club activities that promote artistic forms. Yoga mats would help us learn techniques while stretching out on comfortable mats.

My Project

They will use it as a cushion between them and the hard tile floor as they practice yoga. This will give them support and ease them when trying out certain difficult yoga moves. This will also protect them from the hard tile floor so they are comfortable.

The yoga mats I chose are colorful and child friendly which will only enhance their excitement.

They will be motivated and excited to sit on them and stretch out. Most of these student do not participate in extracurricular activities therefore having this time to partake in fitness will be thrilling
