My Students

Do you remember colorful projects and exciting ways to apply your knowledge in elementary school? Remember having options and choices? Spending time to make your work look nice? Publishing stories in your neatest handwriting with colorful illustrations? Now, imagine 4th grade in black and white.

The 43 amazing students from 16 different countries in my classroom come to school daily, dedicated to working hard and gaining an education that enables them to compete with their higher-income peers.

My students are creative, motivated, and inspired individuals who are invested in their education because they understand the impact a quality education can have on their lives. They do their absolute best with the little they have; they have huge personalities that enable creativity to shine through without the materials that others have enjoyed in elementary school. Hopefully, through your generosity, these bright young scholars will one day enjoy the same colorful experience as their higher-income peers. They are academically competitive and driven to reach their full potential; I am hopeful that they will be able to enjoy many more projects and assignments to let their full personalities show in their schoolwork in the near future.

My Project

These inspiring children deserve access to the same great enriching activities that students in wealthy communities enjoy, and yet they have none. My students are incredibly talented young individuals who are incredibly creative, despite their lack of access to materials. I am requesting paper, markers, posters, and other office supplies necessary for projects and creative application of knowledge. They are so deserving of an environment with colorful tools to make their work come alive, and means to express themselves in more than a plain pencil on paper presentation. I am impressed by my students on a daily basis, and they are such a gracious group of young people who would be more thankful for these supplies more than I am able to express in words. Any donation is sincerely appreciated, and my students' lives will be positively impacted by access to paper, markers, and various other resources necessary to express knowledge and creativity.

My project is so important, because it will enrich the daily activities in our classroom by allowing students to take pride in their work, create projects displaying the knowledge they have gained, and provide opportunities to experience learning in ways they are not able to access with just a pencil and a piece of paper.

These materials will make learning come alive for my students, and enable them to create projects that encourage them to seek and apply knowledge in new ways.
