My Students

My first grade students are remarkably resilient and determined to learn. They attend school on a rotating basis and join me on the days when they do not attend in-person classes. Our remote learning sessions have grown into full-fledged classrooms where our learning is facilitated on a daily basis.

My Project

My students are a wonderful, diverse group of students that represent a multitude of cultures. The dolls will allow them to actualize themselves through play. The paper doll set will afford them the opportunity to create dolls of their own that are a true reflection of themselves.

The ability to represent themselves through play is a cornerstone of their development.

The ability to act out different situations can help them develop their problem solving skills in a meaningful way. Moreover, playing with a variety of culturally different dolls exposes them to the many peoples of the world. Hopefully, this exposure strengthens the foundation of acceptance and appreciation of all people.
