My Project

After several years in the classroom, last year was my first time as a Reading Coach at a new school. While I am still learning the names of all of the students in the building, it has been great adapting to my new environment with my new group of students. After year one, I want to step up the writing process with the students I provide IEP services to. With this in mind, I thought of a fun way to make it all happen.

The idea is to encourage my students to write more while increasing their writing stamina.

We will start with short words or phrases from the observations made from the herbs and vegetables growing from the AeroGarden. We will be able to document the growth using the mini printer to attach to students' writing notebooks for the observations.

While also being introduced to sentence stems, we hope to be able to expand from short phrases to simple and possibly complex sentences. An added bonus is the ability to sample the products produced from the AeroGarden as well as an opportunity to learn more about science.

I hope students enjoy this project because I think it can GROW into something bigger!
