This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In the heart of the Bronx, NYC, our Title I middle school strives to educate and empower individual thinkers to make a positive impact in the world. Serving students from diverse cultural backgrounds, cognitive abilities, and academic strengths, we intend to minimize the achievement gap that pushes our students to the back of the line in terms of access and equity.

WE TEACH, WE LEARN, WE LOVE.

Combining data-driven instructional models and strong social-emotional learning supports, our scholars graduate knowing they were loved and cared for while in our school building. Our students offer their voices, historically unheard; their talent, previously untapped; and their success, often underestimated.

Our Drama and Arts department is dedicated to working alongside learners to artistically engage curiosity and to ask and answer "bigger questions." We envision a thriving performing arts culture throughout our school building that encourages risk-taking and reflective practice while celebrating the power of creation and expression.

My Project

This goal of this project is to support student learning and improve instruction during a remote teaching environment. Dry erase supplies help to bridge the gap between students and their acquisition of academic content and language.

These writing/drawing tools allow for direct responses to students in the moment and provide an opportunity to create instant visual aides that support a variety of learners, including English Language Learners and Students with Special Needs.

Theater and arts appreciation relies on exposing students to elements such as visual/audio and immersive resources that inspire and awaken the senses. This project will help bring the world of performing arts to students by providing hardware to support teaching and learning theater in a remote setting.
