Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

How can my school close the achievement gap when our students do not have the necessary tools and materials to succeed? A review of our incoming student data indicates that the majority of our students are performing below grade level. This means that they are mainly levels 1 and 2 and are starting their 6th grade at a disadvantage.

Many of my students live in shelters or have parents who are battling some form of addiction.

These situations put these students at a further disadvantage and does not give them much of a chance for success.

My Project

The mathematical learning tools/supplies will fill an immediate need in my math classroom. In other words the multiplying and dividing machines are needed for math skills which are the foundation for future learning. The fraction,decimal and percent circles will remove the vacuum of abstract learning and allow for hands-on, interactive and visionary connections to be made every day.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student learning, you will ultimately help to accelerate and reinforce their academic achievement.

Being able to interact with these tools will improve their reasoning and real world connections.
