My Project

I’m an Occupational Therapist and work with students who may be on the Autistic Spectrum. Improving sensory awareness allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During Occupational Therapy, they will choose sounds that may decrease or increase self-motivating behavior in the classroom that works for them. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice of what sensory opportunities will enable them to focus and complete an activity. My students get more work completed when you introduce a sensory component. An auditory sensory component will improve productivity and how our students work with their peers.

The product that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional sensory auditory options to make more effective learning choices.

The wireless Airpod Headsets are adjustable and will allow students to sit at any location and will allow movement. This will be extremely beneficial for some students who just need to get up and move. I have seen how an auditory sensory approach can positively affect my students' work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
