My Project

I want to implement more of the parts of conscious discipline in my classroom this year. Conscious discipline is teaching students social and emotional skills to help them learn. This summer I attended Conscious Discipline Academy, and I am excited and ready to add new pieces of CD to my classroom. I want to add a kindness tree, a safe keeper box, and an energy stick.

I want to make these parts memorable for my students by getting resources they enjoy using and having.

For the kindness tree, I will use the wooden tree cutout for my kindness tree. The heart post-it notes will be for students to use to draw or write the acts of kindness they see or do. I will use the heart rocks and decorative box to implement the safe keeper. Students will get to pick their special and unique rock at the beginning of the year. Each day, they will commit to the class by putting their heart rock in the box. The energy stick will help me remind my students of class unity. I also plan to use it with others in my building.
