My Students

My students are curious, resilient, and kind. I am grateful to be the teacher guiding them through the deeply impactful stories throughout history. It's an incredible feeling seeing their faces light up as they learn about the most important people, places, and events in the world.

After almost 3 years of being in a pandemic, it's about time our students explore our global community in a way that resonates with them and with technology that excites them.

I truly believe each child in my classroom loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn varies greatly. I'm confident that these virtual reality headsets will accelerate their understanding and appreciation of social studies content.

My Project

Virtual reality is such a blessing, especially in a time where COVID has relegated so many people to their homes. These Oculus headsets will help my classroom go on field trips (an opportunity that hasn't been possible the last three years). With an Oculus headset, my students can soar above the Matterhorn, step foot in Anne Frank's Attic, and see a herd of African elephants walk right in front of them!

I teach three classes (World Geography, US History, and Travel and Tourism), and I know that these virtual reality headsets will enhance the learning experience for all of my students.

Field trips are hard to do in this day and age. There is a lack of funds and a lack of bus drivers making it almost impossible. Using these VR headsets will let my students be able to tour a variety of environments making them feel like they are actually there.
