Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A passion for robotics is clearly evident with all the students I serve. They work collaboratively to build a robot, drive it, and compete with other teams. These students stay after school to learn about the engineering design process and collaboration. These students are dedicated to their craft and work continuously for months to perfect their robots and maximize the number of points they are able to score.

The engineering notebook is each team's brainchild and shows all their thinking and hard work as they plan it and make it come to life.

Having a uniform notebook with all the needed materials is important. Students have a chance to submit engineering notebooks before the league championship and their work here can earn them an award and a spot at the State Championship match. From State, notebooks are submitted again and can earn an award with a chance to go to the World Championship competition. For many of these student this is their first time on an airplane and/or out of state. These notebooks will be a valuable tool for the students that receive them and allow the coach to focus on enhancing the engineering design process for their students instead of trying to find the resources needed for students to thrive.
