Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students are comprised of five pre-kindergarten boys and five girls, totaling 10 students in all. Their ages range from 3 to 5 years old. They are inner-city urban youth who mostly come from single-parent​ low-income backgrounds.

Despite this environmental obstacle, they are smart, creative, loving and extremely motivated learners.

The children in my classroom are like family. They show kindness and empathy towards each other daily. They are very curious, opinionated, outspoken and are higher-level learners. It is a joy to work with them.

The community vest will allow the students to identify the duties and various members of their community.

The dishes and pans will awaken the creative chefs, and perhaps spark a thirst for culinary school.

Hopefully it will instill the importance of feeding their family balanced meals.

The playdough will allow the students to create their own cuisine and various other art materials will allow them to advertise and post about their foods.
