My Students

My students are becoming fantastic writers. They are to the point where they can write sequential and evermore descriptive stories. They are becoming quite repetitive in their word usage and I am encouraging them not to use the same word more than once or twice in their writing.

My Sensational Second Grade students are predominantly from inner city Los Angeles, low income and limited English speaking homes.

Vocabulary development tends to be one of my main areas of focus with them as it will assist will all academic and nonacademic areas in their lives.

My Project

I truly believe that the thesaurus’ I am requesting would truly enhance their vocabulary and therefore both academic and nonacademic areas in their lives. Rhyming dictionaries would benefit their creative and poetic writing as well.

Vocabulary enhancement is one of the most easily learned areas which will give a multitude of benefits to students.

It will improve listening and speaking ability, reading comprehension, and writing ability in all curricular areas and life situations. Obtaining thesaurus’ for my class will help me make their ability to comprehend and communicate soar!!!!!!
