Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work at a Tittle 1 school and most of the population comes from Hispanic homes. During Covid, the area where my school is located was extremely affected as it was the epicenter of Covid-19. Due to the area and the population of my school, I have been advocating to have a Dual Language program. Finally, last school year my school piloted a Dual Language program in Kindergarten and those students are coming to me this September. I work with first graders, and I love my students. I can't wait to teach my students Spanish in all academic areas! I am trying to get Spanish books, so students have a Spanish Library to bookshop and practice reading in that language. Additionally, I need other supplies to create a happy, welcoming, and fun classroom where students are not afraid to be themselves. Thank you for all the support.
