My Students

This is my seventh year teaching in New York. I am a Special Education teacher in a third-grade classroom.

My students are creative, clever, and very spontaneous.

As a teacher in a Title I school, my students are faced with various situations both in and out of the classroom.

My Project

I made it a priority as I started my career as a teacher that even though I may not be able to control my kiddos' home lives, however, I know I can certainly control their positive experiences during the school day in a creative and positive way. Our year together was different and unique but we made it work. I had students learning through the hybrid approach.

I miss seeing all my students in one place and being able to support their learning at the same time.

I miss the hugs and the group work we were able to do when we were all in the classroom. I'm thankful for the breakout rooms but at the same time, I miss being able to see that happening in the classroom. My students have worked really hard this year especially with the unique school year we had together. They have grown in all areas since September and I am super proud of them. I want to be able to get them a little something for all their hard work this school year.

My students love read alouds! This year we had a couple of days dedicated to Mo Willems and they absolutely loved being a part of it. They love listening to me read all types of books.

I would love to see the look on my student's faces when they each receive their own copy of an Elephant and Piggie book with a handwritten thank you note from me inside of it.
