Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a Title I school located in a diverse low-income community. Our students receive free breakfast and lunch daily, along with free after-school care. Over 70% of our population speak English as a second language. Many of my students come from families that have little exposure to books and modern technology. My students are a bright bunch with huge hearts and come to school each day to learn as much as they can.

My Project

I am a new kindergarten teacher and am in desperate need of a second magnetic whiteboard. I currently have one whiteboard in the front of the classroom used to project images from the computer. A second magnetic whiteboard is CRUCIAL during instruction because it helps students visualize their daily learning goals and objectives.

A magnetic whiteboard will display daily objectives, learning expectations, the date, and the daily agenda, which are crucial visuals for all students.

In addition, having multi-colored dry-erase markers allows me to color code which gives students alternatives for visual learning and instruction.
