Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am currently a teacher in the Bronx, NY with students who have a variety of emotional and intellectual disabilities. I would love for my students to have access to tools that will help them to become more organized and successful mathematicians. They are a great bunch of kids with motivation unlike any I have ever seen. They wish to strive and achieve all of their goals set for this year.
My Project
I am currently in the process of creating a cafe area in the classroom where students can sit and complete their assignments, instead of at their desks. This area will have a sensory water fountain and calming music to enhance the experience in the classroom. The bean bag chairs will allow students to use a different part of the room to complete independent tasks comfortably, if they desire to change locations while in the classroom. Your help with these materials will be greatly appreciated and most welcomed.
