My Students

My students are highly motivated to learn. Children who are eager to learn need to be offered varied instructional opportunities. Kindergarten is where many of our students will develop their lifelong love of learning. Many of our students are coming to us from lower-income households of diverse backgrounds.

As an educator, I strive to create an exciting environment where we take chances, discover, and excel.

Building a strong foundation is the key to future learning success. Without that strong start, the foundation of education will crumble. My ultimate goal is to give students a lifetime love of learning for their future success.

My Project

My students are just learning words letters and sounds. Each of them is on the cusp of becoming readers. Anything I can do to get them ready for this I want to do. For many of them, repetition of needed letter sounds has a profound impact on learning new sight words for basic readers.

Having an iPad allows for the students to practice these skills until they have achieved mastery, allowing them to find confidence as beginning readers.

I have seen children who have made wonderful growth in many academic areas. I have also seen children with less support from home not make the gains I thought were possible. Supporting them in school becomes even more important to this population of students.
