Understanding and following the rules of pickleball teach students the importance of sportsmanship, fair play, and respect for opponents and teammates.
Learning to win graciously and accept defeat with dignity are valuable life lessons that students can carry with them beyond the game.
Engaging in physical activity, such as playing pickleball, releases endorphins, which can help reduce stress and improve mood. Learning and practicing the game can serve as a fun and constructive outlet for students to unwind, relieve academic pressures, and promote mental well-being.
Pickleball provides opportunities for socialization and building friendships among students. Whether they're playing with classmates during physical education classes or participating in after-school clubs or tournaments, students can bond over their shared love for the sport, fostering a sense of camaraderie and belonging.
Middle school students are growing at a rapid rate and they are always hungry. In my cart, I've chosen some healthy snacks that students can enjoy by answering a Do Now or Exit pass question related to our current topic we are learning. Healthy snacks can also be an incentive to some students who don't really participate in classroom discussions.
