Igniting Innovation: Coding with Sphero Mini Robots

My Project

I am the lucky one who teaches a remarkable group of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, full of creativity, curiosity, and a love to learn. My students are from a quite diverse background and often present challenges, but they rise above them with determination and enthusiasm. What actually helps make them such very special kids is that they are so eager to explore and can think outside the box when engaging, hands-on opportunities are presented to them.

The Sphero Mini coding robots I’m requesting will make a world of difference in my students learning.

These compact, interactive robots will provide my students with the tools to develop coding skills in an exciting, tangible way. Through programming the robots to navigate mazes, solve challenges, and even play games, my students will enhance their critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

My aim with this grant is to instill a love of coding and technology, then connect it to real-life uses. I want my students to visualize themselves as innovators of the future, competent and creative problem solvers. The Sphero Minis will facilitate making abstract coding concepts concrete, thereby promoting deeper comprehension and longer-lasting results.
