Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love that our students bring the best of who they are to school. They possess resilience, tenacity, and determination. I am requesting an order of simple supplies to help meet the student's needs in a room where resources are plentiful and accessible. We live in a world where things don't always seem to be far and resources can be limited. However, it is our duty as a community to meet the needs of the students to gain access to a world ready to be discovered. Sometimes all a student needs is little time to be aware of the social-emotional tools they need to help them focus.

For students, being organized is particularly important as it will help them learn how to prioritize assignments, set and achieve goals and reduce stress.

To address this we are asking for a mail sorter to keep students organized. Headphones will be used for noise reduction, increase concentration, and can help with sensory overload. Others items will help us with creative projects to get the students excited about learning.

Wingsforkids.com said it best, "Research shows that effective social-emotional education has the power to strengthen attachment to school and reduce negative classroom behavior, two significant predictors of who will succeed in school and stay in school."
