This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

There are so many fun and exciting things happening in our room this year! We have hatched and raised adorable baby chicks, watched caterpillars form chrysalises and turn into beautiful butterflies, planted fruits and vegetables in a small garden outside our portable, and have been on several field trips to ensure that learning is fun!

Our school is a Title I school in an urban setting in Norfolk.

My class consists of 20 smart and hardworking boys and girls who bring me joy every day! I am an inclusion teacher which means I have the fortunate experience of working with special education students! I currently have 6 students that have learning disabilities. Though learning can be a struggle for them, they do not lack in motivation nor the desire to learn!

My Project

The goal of this project is to incorporate more technology into our classroom. As 21st century learners, my students need to have more technology at their disposal daily. Therefore, I am requesting tablets so that my students can engage in literacy and math activities during station time. My students love using the computer and Smartboard each day, and I believe they will love using a tablet just as much (if not more).

My ultimate goal for this project is to ignite a love of learning through technology!

Finding equipment and activities for my children that inspire and motivate will only improve student performance and achievement.
