Most libraries these days are not the quiet, shusshy types of days past. They are bustling hubs of activity, central to the life of a school. Our library is no different. We have established ourselves as a place where EVERY kid has a place and a space. One of the areas we pride ourselves in is our Makerspace. This is an area where our students can come to make anything from jewelry, to art, to a 3D print.
We have the space and the great ideas, but we don't have the materials to keep students interested.
We need paint brushes, key rings, glue sticks and more materials for our Makerspace to keep students coming into the library and using their Engineering Design Process skills to make, create, iterate, and produce. This process is so important for their development as thinkers. With this project they will be able to take these materials and make their imaginative ideas tangible.
