Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
We are a Title I school in a city school district. In our public city school, many scholars are diverse, multiple language learners and at-risk readers. Currently, the entire school population receives free breakfast and lunch. Many scholars are also from low-income households. However, they are warm, loving, and continually searching for ways to grow and become better each day. I am honored to teach such wonderful children.
I enjoy providing scholars a multitude of experiences to connect the curriculum and enhance their learning while promoting equitable access and allowing them to be creative and stimulate their curiosity.
My scholars are eager to learn, excel and connect the curriculum in the school library media center. As the school librarian, I am able to reach every student in the school. I have been teaching for eighteen years and I take a great deal of pride in my work. I strive to make learning fun and engaging as I have been focusing on transdisciplinary learning to help scholars have authentic and powerful learning experiences.
My Project
This virtual artist visit will show kids that anything is possible. They will learn to persist and work through blocks of writing and drawing when they feel as if they are stumbling. This illustrator will show kids how to get all their creativity out and challenges themselves to produce each day. Through visual presentation and interactive engagement Illustrator Basil will encourage hands on creativity, artistic learning and fund.
Let's raise the bar and ask our kids to create instead of consume.
I am teaching the next Steve Jobs and need your help reaching them all! Thank you for your time, support and consideration of public school children.
