My Students

It is said that seeing is believing. I believe that my students will become better learners and enjoy learning more if they are able to see their lessons and not just hear them.

My students are ambitious high school students who want to be engaged in learning.

They are from the Mississippi Delta and lack many of the resources that can make learning fun. There are many distractions in the lives of these students and learning often falls on the back burner. However, we as teachers try with our minimal materials to encourage learning and to create successful students.

My Project

An LCD projector would be an amazing addition to our classroom. Science is often about the visual and without a way to show students they often do not grasp the concepts. Students will be able to create projects and present them to the class using this technology. Students will be able to learn to use programs that work with a projector so they are better prepared for college. An LCD projector could open many doors in the educational process that takes place in my classroom.

Opening doors and broadening horizons is the job of a teacher.

An LCD projector will allow me to do just that by being able to go more in depth with my students. I will be showing students what they are learning instead of trying to describe it or showing them a picture from an out-of-date textbook. I know that an LCD projector will allow me to be a better teacher and will provide my students with more learning opportunities, which they greatly need.
