Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting a 3D printer and filament. Using 3D modeling software such as Tinkercad, the student project will combine toy design with concepts of forces and motion by guiding students in creating spinning tops.

Once 3D printed, students can compete to see whose spinning top can spin for the longest before analyzing the results and making improvements on the design.

Along with being a design challenge, the students will use math skills to make measurements of size and time in relation to their spinning tops. They will also use digital tools such as Google Sheets to record and graph their collected data and Google Slides to share their project with the class.
