Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are critically analyzing texts through the lens of gender, social class, race, power, and injustice. Students begin with his or her own identity story and ask “Where do my lived experiences show up in the text?” They use different lens to ask who is in the text and who has been left out? How would the text be different is the missing voice was present? Who has power and how does it show it in hidden ways.

These books will help my students see themselves and their experiences reflected on the page.

Moreover, they will help students continue to examine how gender, race, and class are connected in literature.
