Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach in a D75 school with students on the Autism Spectrum. My 6 students come from various backgrounds and are each beautifully unique in their own way. I would love for my students to have their own iPad for instructional lessons in literacy.

My students will greatly benefit with iPads that can be customized with educational programs to further reinforce their learning experience.

Our school will be implementing the Lexia reading program to further support structured literacy skills for each student’s various abilities. Lexia has a wide variety of skill levels within the program. On every iPad, I can monitor and tailor activities with each of my student's individual needs in mind. I would like each student to have an opportunity to collectively work in small group instruction with their iPads and one-on-one instruction to help meet their academic goals.

These iPads will provide my students with the additional individualized education needed to enhance their learning in a fun and engaging way.
