Currently, I am teaching second grade at my school. The past two years, I have been a professional educator at two other schools in the Beloit School District. I have the pleasure to teach students with various backgrounds and so much diversity!
Our school district emphasizes the importance of building community for all our young scholars.
To build my classroom community, we have many restorative practice circles, where all of my students are comfortably included.
My students are coming in to my classroom, from low-income households. They are experiencing things day-to-day that many of us adults and educators cannot even imagine. My hope is to provide all of my students with a safe, calm, engaging learning environment that will prepare them for their future grade levels.
My Project
I have a classroom full of loving and caring second graders. They have been through so much that I can't even begin to imagine how they continue to stay strong and work hard day after day.
At the end of the year, I want to give my students something they will have to remember the incredible times we had together in our class.
"I Wish You More" is the perfect book to showcase the love and support I will always have for them.
I am a huge advocate of making sure first and foremost, my students feel safe and loved in the classroom before anything else.
