Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My classroom and our community is incredibly diverse! My students deserve to see themselves represented in class through the books we read, the holidays and cultures we learn about, and in the artwork they create. The more my students see themselves and learn about each other, the more engaged they are with their learning. We will be embarking on an in-depth look at the cultures in New Mexico through literature, art, cooking, and music. Students will have a celebration of learning and share their learning with their families in December. With the selected books, students will see themselves represented throughout the school year. The Colors of the World crayons, modeling clay and color pencils will enhance their ability to represent themselves and their families in their art!
