My Students

I teach at a Title 1 school. Approximately 70% of my students receive free or reduced lunches. This year over half of my students read below grade level. It is important that I use every opportunity to improve their reading and love of learning.

I have been teaching for 16 years.

I am certified in early childhood and elementary education. I am currently teaching first grade in a Title 1 school. I would love the opportunity to update and improve my skills to meet the needs of students today.

My Project

I would love the opportunity to attend the SDE I Teach 1st Conference. I would have the opportunity to enrich my professional skills, knowledge, and invest in my students' academic growth and success. This conference would allow me to meet and learn from top-quality early childhood experts and classroom teachers. I would have the chance to return to school with new strategies and resources that I can share with my students and peers.

I strongly believe that this conference will strengthen my professional learning and allow me to be a better teacher for my students.

I would be able to improve my students' reading, comprehension, math, and writing skills. The opportunity to improve their academic skills will help my students continue to love learning and feel the success they need to be lifelong learners.
