Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are hoping to get new historical fiction graphic novel texts. With these texts, students will be able to bridge fiction and non-fiction in addition to building an understanding of the history around the world. The historical fiction graphic novels will help students learn about memoirs, autobiographies, biographies, & other true stories.

With these new books, the students will be able to choose from a variety of topics that will allow them to read in small groups at their own grade level.

Students will be able to choose a topic that will interest them. This unit will be paired with non-fiction articles about our world today. By donating to our project, you will help us allow choice in our historical fiction unit, which will ultimately help us increase their engagement and academic achievement.
