This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

At-Home Learning through e-Classrooms and a Virtual Google Meets 90 mins each class all day. It has hit these young students, and I quite a bit differently than others dealing with COVID 19. As I approach the 2nd Semester of Distant Virtual at Home Learning and Working at a G.L.O.B.A.L. school, I need to provide these young developing minds with all the resources they should have. Unfortunately, they still do not have full access, with testing just around the corner.

My students are 99% English language learners and all receive Free lunch.

They took their exams in their 1st language and now everything is in English and they are struggling readers that are compassionate and caring. Just issuing each a personal copy of Hidden Figures from another project had their eyes illuminated with excitement.

They are remaining at home to ensure their safety and longevity of life while trying to be educated through this pandemic at a crucial year of life 7th-grade. The Summer Programs for the district offered so much for the students, yet there has been zero support at all for the materials to be available to the students at home and allow them to achieve the same level.

My Project

Earlier this school year as we embarked on 6 months of home quarantine and 5 months of At Home Learning I knew ALL too well that students will need a stylus to write on their Chromebooks versus trying to use their fingers or the mouse keypad. The Best of intentions, do NOT ALWAYS yield the Desired result.

Although, the stylus helped it did not allow for accuracy of writing or the change in circumference for clarity of writing and sometimes it just will not write at all.

I have even tried using them myself and it has become quite frustrating.

So after some research and testing a few styli I have discovered that the BEST stylus for the accuracy of the text, legibility, and precision is on with the disc attachment.

I Am trying to get each of my students a stylus with the disc for accuracy and precision in their writing and solving math problems. They are even able to be used in cross-curricular integration. Several students have experienced ALL of their hard work being erased or extra annotations appearing on their Learning Activities, Test, and even group projects due to their hand sliding or resting on their devices. The artist gloves are the exact thing we need to prevent this from happening moving forward.

I AM handi-capable and I must use a walking aid 90% of the day. This makes it extremely difficult to carry additional things that I need when moving around the class or throughout the campus having only one free hand. I am hoping to become more mobile along with teaching tools that I need close by with the assistance of the High Road DriverStash Organizer with Insulated Cup Holder.
