Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing human beings! They are full of life and have endless potential to do so many wonderful things. My school is a Title I school in a poverty-stricken​ community.

Our school is home to a very large English language learner population.

All of our students receive free breakfast and free lunch. Many of our parents struggle to help meet the needs for school supplies and the needs of their children. Regardless of these circumstances, my students overcome! They are learning how to face challenges and grow stronger academically, socially, and emotionally, preparing them for the next level of life.

I believe that these students deserve every opportunity this world has to offer, and I am determined to help them get it. These students can change the world with their brilliant minds and can climb out of the cycle of poverty through the gift of education. They will learn that the world is theirs for the taking with hard work, dedication, and knowledge.

My Project

My students are readers. My students are mathematicians. My students are DETECTIVES! What many students don't realize is that when they look for text evidence or can break apart numbers, they're actually real life detectives!

Through these books students will work collaboratively to solve each mystery!

It's no secret; we are a family in our classroom. Books are a huge part of that. But how often is it that books can bring students and teachers together? With these books, that'll happen. The result will be lots of verbal and nonverbal communication. These books will teach students how to work together and find success in numbers!
