My Students

What I love about my students is the passion and willingness they bring to the classroom. They continuously strive for excellence and are eager to learn.

What helps keep the passion alive, is our school culture.

We have a mantra that the students start with when they enter each class they transition to. Students say "We will be successful because we are CLEAR. Clear stands for community, leadership, excellence, accountability, and respect.

After spending eighteen months at home during remote learning, I want my scholars to continue working digitally in class. My classroom data has shown the benefits of students staying engaged and focused on their digital assignments.

In my two classes, I have a total of 45 students who are in low-income housing. Four students are English Language Learners and receive services. I have a few students who receive Occupational therapy and Speech therapy. My students are exceedingly deserving of having access to in-school resources.

My Project

The document camera will help my students who are visual learners. I will use it to demonstrate my mini lesson for my students. Students can use it to show their answers to the class and explain why so the class can learn from their peers. Or as a class we can show what we collaborated together through this document camera.

I want to ensure that my students with disabilities are met with the resources that will help them succeed in English Language Arts.

For example, my students with Dyslexia will use these reading strips to help them focus on one sentence at a time. This way they won't feel overwhelmed by reading a story.
