Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are special because they have a true desire to learn and be the best individuals possible. My student body is made of students from many cultural backgrounds. Many of my students come from low-income homes. My school is a melting pot and we strive as educators to provide our students with the best education possible. My goal as an educator is to instill in my students the love of education and teach them to work hard to achieve their goal educational, as well as personal, to the best of their abilities.

My students inspire me every day to be the best I can be.

They are always willing to try and learn a concept even when it becomes challenging. They have a wonderful mindset of never giving up and working hard to the best of their abilities. I stress to my students that as long as they have truly given it their best, then I am happy. I stress the importance of growing as a person, both academically and personally.

My Project

I requesting these books to fill my classroom library with text that represent my students. Allowing my students to see themselves in the text they are reading will help to foster a love for reading. I want my students to enjoy reading because they can relate to the characters in the stories. They will also be able to learn that even though we may come from different backgrounds we are alike in ways we may not have been aware. But through having rich text from different cultural backgrounds, learning and having mutual respect for others will be achieved.
