My Students

My students are hardworking kids from New York City in a special education class. They are happy students. My students come from low-income families and need every advantage they can get. They face many challenges outside of school, but they work hard in school to succeed.

They have the smarts and the motivation to be the best; let's give them the materials.

I want to ensure my students have all the necessary tools to compete in our challenging world.

My Project

I want my students to see themselves reflected in their classroom. It would be so wonderful to have a room that represents and respects all. When organizing my class library, I realized many books had the same types of main characters. I began to look at the posters hanging in my room and more of the same.

How amazing and empowering would it be to have a library and posters that include and represent all!

Help me fill my library with diverse literature and positive posters hanging up. This will be made complete with a plush rug where students can get lost in a book.
