Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Try your very best!" This is what I remind my students everyday. My class is an integrated co-teaching class made up of students with disabilities, English language learners, and gifted students. Our school is a Title I school located in a low-income, high need area but that doesn't stop my students from doing the best they can. My students are a group of wonderful and curious kindergartners that love to learn. I wish I was able to provide them with all of the great resources out there to help them become better students.

My Project

Kindergarteners love to write about themselves and things they love. So what better way to support them than by creating writing boards. I will use the privacy partitions and all other materials to create a writing board for each child. The writing board will have sight words, family words, verbs, etc to promote and enhance their writing.

I want my students to be able to see themselves when they write.

The need to see how smart they are and how powerful their words are. I believe that as teachers, we need to inspire and motivate these young writers in the best way we can. That is why my students need these materials.
