Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you." ~ Maya Angelou Writing is an important part of our literacy program. Students reflect on their learning in all subjects by writing in their composition notebooks. Why not allow them the opportunity to publish their hard work?

My fifth grade class will have a series of writing assignments this upcoming school year that will require them to revise, edit, and publish.

My students are always proud of their work, and why not allow them to display it as a neatly typed piece of art! My twenty-eight students are motivated to learn, and love to have their work displayed for the rest of the school to see. I teach a diverse group of students who come from a variety of social and economic backgrounds. Many times, their work has to be hand written on loose leaf paper due to limited use of computers and printers. Our access to the computer room is just once a week for only 45 minutes! Unfortunately, this is not enough time to type and print their revised work. Having access to a printer in the classroom will speed up the process and continue to motivate using our three classroom computers!

My Project

When we receive our color printer and ink cartridges we have requested, we will jump for joy! Students will use it to print their essays, poetry, research-based projects, and other writing assignments. Having work printed and showcased throughout our classroom will continue to encourage my students in creating more published work, foster self-esteem, and creativity. Our class is composed of different academic levels and learning styles. Having the printer will allow all learners to engage in the writing process.

Your donation to this project will help my students relish in becoming published authors!

The additional ink cartridges will ensure that their work will continue to be published throughout the school year.
