My Project

Students Making A Real Transition (S.M.A.R.T) is how I can best describe my students. Even though they may be moving from home to home or from shelter to shelter due to being homeless, they are resilient, hopeful, and driven. My students constantly strive to do their best, no matter what obstacles occur. They are brave, strong, ambitious, and kind. They create a goal, and they persevere through it.

These items will make a tremendous impact on my students' lives.

The I Love Me affirmation coloring book will help my S.M.A.R.T students gain confidence, improve their growth mindset, and allow them to believe in themselves. Just a few positive words can turn the student's day into Magic.

The coloring book will be used during weekly group sessions to teach my students social-emotional skills such as self-awareness, behavioral management, and self-confidence. Coloring is fun, and most kids enjoy it and the creativity it allows them to express, but when they can color in and learn some important life lessons at the same time, it can make a big impression on them.
