I Like to Move It, Move It

My students need flexible seating because not everyone learns best sitting at a desk. These bean bag chairs will allow them to sit around the room and stretch out while completing their classwork.

My Students

My students are a great group of 5th-grade students from a variety of ethnic backgrounds and many from low-income households. OCS accepts students from the entire county regardless of academic background and provides them an opportunity to be educated in a school with a low student to teacher ratio with an emphasis on learning a second language at a young age.

Students at OCS are here because they want to learn.

Each year it becomes clearer "that one size does not fit all" when it comes to education and learning. Students at this age are still wiggly. They move, they stand, they dance! They shouldn't be tied to a desk if that is not optimal for their learning.

My Project

Everybody wants a choice, even when it comes to classroom seating. I have some seating options in my classroom, but I'm looking to add more. Giving students a choice where they can learn gets their interest and ownership. Kids don't always like to sit at a desk, they need to move. These bean bag chairs will let them decide where they would like to sit in the room in whatever position is comfortable. Want to lay on your stomach? Fine. Choose to elevate both legs and lay on your back? It's all good! Just get comfortable and be ready to learn.
